Our sourcing and product development teams are constantly working together with them to develop new ranges and styles and introduce new technologies to give better protection.
Based in Manchester, UK, Blackrock is owned by Rodo Ltd, a family business with family values that are at the heart of everything we do. Rodo was established in 1926, supplying brushes to the textile industry in east Manchester and with an entrepreneurial spirit at its heart that still drives us almost 100 years later. Product is the lifeblood of our business and our passion: nothing excites us as much as product development.
The Rodo of today has two business divisions: one supplying decorating tools and accessories, and the other supplying safety footwear, hi-vis and PPE. Whilst Blackrock can trace its history back to 2004, Rodo was sourcing safety products as long ago as the 1970s and everything we learned in the years leading up to 2004 laid the foundations for the Blackrock brand.

Footwear supplier operations directorSince its launch in 2004, Blackrock has grown rapidly to become one of the UK’s leading suppliers of safety footwear and printed high visibility clothing, with a growing business in gloves and protective equipment. Our customers include industry, corporate outfitters, safety distributors and trade merchants and, whilst we love talking to the people who wear our products, we are business to business and never undercut our customers by selling direct.
